Lemonade Stand!

Today the girls set up a lemonade stand at Mimi and Grandpa's house.

It was really hot but they sat outside for three hours and sold lemonade, sugar cookies, and oatmeal raisin cookies. At first it wasn't looking like anyone was going to stop, but then a nice man on a motorcycle came by and bought a cup of lemonade and two cookies. After that, a lady gave them $5 for lemonade, two cookies, and their enthusiasm. :) We also had one gentleman stop by and buy three lemonades and six cookies (which should have cost $3) and give them $20!

Liam helped for a little while, too. He sat at the table and yelled, "Lem-ade! Lem-ade!" Then, if the car drove past, he'd say, "Oh, that customer isn't going to get some lem-ade." It was very cute.

Every time a car stopped, the girls would jump into action, greet their customer, and get to work serving up cookies and lemonade. All in all, they made $81.20. I think that was a very successful first business venture!

You've been chalked!

Today we went to Grandma and Grandpa's house and to Mimi and Grandpa's house armed with a whole bunch of sidewalk chalk. Our idea was to draw all over their driveways and leave them a special surprise for when they got home.

At Grandma and Grandpa's  house, we decided to draw a meadow. The kids were all traced and they decorated their outlines to fit the picture. We also left a note.

Then we headed over to Mimi and Grandpa's house. We decided to do an underwater theme. They also got a note.

We had so much fun drawing and leaving them a surprise! It started to rain as we were finishing up but they all assured me that they got to see their artwork. What a great day!
